What Are Aqua Walls and Will My Kids Like Them

You’ve heard of rock climbing. You’ve probably heard of rock climbing walls. But have you heard of aqua walls? Imagine you’re rock climbing, or rock wall climbing, and you’ve gotten as high up as you can go, and you know you’re going to fall. Your hands may get sweaty since you may be afraid of heights, you know you have a harness but it’s still scary! Now imagine all those feelings multiplied by the mind of a child. Some kids love climbing and have no problem with falls. Others may not enjoy it because of that fear.

Now imagine that you don’t have a harness contraption that supposed to catch you if you fall… and instead you have a sparkling blue pool to fall into! That’s an aqua wall. It combines the problem-solving and physical challenge of rock climbing, eliminates the fear of falling, and replaces it with the thrill and fun of splashing into a pool of water.

Essentially, it is a structure that is attached to the side of a pool, can be as tall or as short as you prefer, and has rock climbing handles all the way up the structure, just like a rock wall. The structure curves slightly over the pool so the higher you get the more directly over the water you are positioned. No matter what, if you fall, the pool will be what catches you. It’s a fun and safe alternative to rock wall climbing that kids love. It’s good exercise as well, since it involves swimming and using upper-body to climb. The child can also determine how high up they want to jump into the pool from, whereas some pool slides and diving boards are at set heights, the child can choose a height they are comfortable with. When you mix two fun activities that kids love, it’s a win-win.
